Christmas Eve

Snow, snow, and more snow!!  We weren't sure it was actually going to happen, but it snowed A LOT.  Our neighbor stopped by and plowed our driveway for us on Christmas Eve, saving us hours of shoveling - YAY!  My sister's road hadn't been plowed, so she put on her boots and hiked to the end of her road and we picked her up to bring her to church and then to our house.  We had been planning on hosting my whole family Christmas Eve, but due to the threat of the snowstorm we rescheduled for the day after Christmas (Saturday) instead.

We had a quiet dinner and since it was just the three of us (Ada was napping), we ate in the living room in front of "It's a Wonderful Life".

Chris drove Jenny home around 9 (luckily her road had finally been plowed!) and then we opened a few gifts before heading to bed.

Once she spotted this package under the tree there was no stopping her from crawling across the room to pick it up over and over again. :)

Seven Months

Ada, at seven months you:

Are SO very happy, every day (which makes US so happy!)

Are full of energy

Are belly-crawling (and you are fast!)

Love remote controls and phones (mostly just eating them) :)

Also love eating Kleenex, paper, and anything else you can get into your mouth before we catch you

Get into whatever you can, you love to explore (and we love watching!)

Love watching a good movie; a lot of the time you'll completely ignore whatever we're watching, but sometimes you get completely entranced - laying on your belly, arms crossed in front of you and totally zoned in on the tv

Love chewing on shoes.  Your favorites are your own (leather Robeez); I have to keep them out of sight when I'm putting your socks on. :)  Sometimes you bend right over and chew on them while they're on your feet!

Have growing hair that sticks straight up from your head - and I totally love it

Have beautiful blue eyes

Are still so snuggly in your jammies

Don't like carrots, but are okay with sweet potatoes

Totally love your oatmeal (we make it at home)

Love daycare (so thankful for Jessica and her girls!)

Like being read to, and you help flip the pages

Like playing with your cousins and other kids that are around the same size as you

Are very observant; everywhere we go people comment on how much you watch what's going on around you

Still look so much like your Papa

Love to talk - lately your favorite sounds have been da-da-da-da and ma-ma-ma

Still love blowing raspberries

Are so completely loved little one

December Daily 2009 - Inside Pages

 

The inside pages are complete and ready to go.  Planning to finish the cover tomorrow at sewing night at QT.  SO excited for HOURS of uninterrupted sewing time!!

The pictures below aren't great, but when your 6-month old has a nasty cold and just wants to hang out with her mama, you call it good and move on. :)  I'll try to have better pics as I work on the album throughout the month.  Wow - can you believe Dec. 1st is tomorrow?  My plan is to share some parts of the album and post probably once a week.

Okay, here goes:

 

This card came pre-punched with two holes, but they didn't match up with the spacing I was using here, so I punched a new hole and plan to either add something to cover this hole or I may tie something through the hole.

 

 

I used Stickles throughout the album to add glitter to numbers, and then added a thin coat of Glossy Accents over the glitter to seal it.

 I wanted to include more interactive pages this year.  I'll probably be adding pictures and journaling inside this envelope I made out of a sheet of cardstock.  It's held shut with twine and a button.

 

I left the white edge on this piece of paper and plan to cover it up with something on that day.

 

I just can't decide what to use for the number 16 here, so will add the number on that day.

 

Another interactive pocket page with a card that pulls out.  I made this same type of pocket last year as well.  I like using some of the same ideas/products/elements each year.

 

Number 19 will be added later.  This page is a piece of felt; I like incorporating lots of texture into my albums.

 

Super cute paper from the new Eskimo Kisses line by Basic Grey.

 

I love the see-thru nature of this cardstock, but figuring out how to incorporate it into the album was a little tricky.  Last year I just punched holes through the cardstock and then reinforced them.  This year I sandwiched the cardstock between a cut-down page protector and used Tombo vellum adhesive to stick the cardstock to the page protector.  It worked great and the adhesive is barely visible.

 

I again left the white portion of the cardstock attached here.  I'm planning to add some type of pocket to the front of this page that will cover that portion up.

  

I used a clear glitter snowflake sticker under the number stickers here, and added a second one to the back side of the page so that it could be placed above the page edge.

 

 

Most of the materials used in the album were supplies I already had on hand, although a few new papers were used from Making Memories Mistletoe line and from the Eskimo Kisses collection by Basic Grey.

The rings are 2.5" ones I got at Michaels (in the embroidery section).

If the cover works out the way I hope it will, I'll plan to post pictures on Wednesday. :)
