A Week in the Life - Friday - Sunday

Friday

She's always so happy in the morning; love that. :)

Julia "helping" Ada look at the camera.  I kept forgetting to take pictures when I picked her up at daycare this week, so this was all I got.  Ada kept crawling off camera...

At the first Twin Cities Suburban Modern Quilt Guild meeting; this is one of my favorite shots of the day - one that I know I'll love seeing later and a true "everyday life" moment that I normally wouldn't capture.

Saturday

It's 7 am and Ada is up and ready to play; Mama is off camera slumped in the recliner wishing for another snooze.  Love the jammies.  The "toy" she's playing with is a plastic dice game container that she loves to put things into and then she loves to take them out.  Over and over; pure concentration for minutes on end.

A cool, rainy day.  We stayed inside.

Actually lying still for her diaper change. Love the foot-grabbing that she's into now...at least until it's time to try to put the new diaper on.

Another favorite activity.  She LOVES to see what's going on outside.  Another bonus of this picture? Capturing those cute little pants. :)

Hanging out watching Sesame Street.  She now has to hold/eat the case while she watches.  Lots of blurry pictures on Saturday; this girl does NOT sit still for long.

Papa and Ada heading to Menard's.  A nice break for Mama, and a chance to clean while they were out.

Clean diapers; soon to be strewn across the floor.  Ada does an excellent job of helping with the laundry. :)

Afternoon snack.

Aunt Jenny came over to play with Ada so Mama could sew, and stayed for supper.

Sunday

Ada was NOT happy that I left her upstairs by herself for a couple minutes.  Actually reaching through the posts is a first for her, and a big-time no-no; busted!

Poor thing; it's hard to scold her with a straight face when she's being so cute.

More cleaning; another wet and windy day outside.

And more laundry.

Posing for a picture while skyping with Gramma and Grandpa.  Ada was almost constantly on the move, but would come up to them every few minutes and say "Hi!" as if she hadn't talked to them in months.

The only family portrait of the week.

Grocery / supper run.  Also the only time I left the house this weekend.

Trying to escape pajamas and bed time.  It didn't work. :)

I made it!!  Feeling really good about this project this year; it's the first time I actually remembered to take pictures and journal every day.  Phase 2: Finding time to put it together in an album.

Wednesday

Thursday

Pansies waiting to be planted.

First mowing of the season; the green patches in the garden are green onions that came back from last year - yum.

Most days now she has to put the spoon in her mouth herself; she does a surprisingly good job. :)

Our after-dinner walk.

The tub is one of her favorite spots right now; she checks it out multiple times every day, dropping toys in, reaching for the faucet, taking all the washcloths out of the basket...

So happy it was bath night.

A Week in the Life - Monday and Tuesday

Monday

Hanging out next to the garden while Mama plants onions and beets.  Ada's still not too fond of grass, but she loves crumpling up leaves in her hands. :)

Tuesday

Having an early morning snack

Packing Ada's breakfast and lunch for daycare; strawberries, a jar of Plum Banana Oats, and some cheerios for breakfast, and plain pasta (she wolfs it down!), jar of baby food and spinach puffs for lunch.  Animal crackers for afternoon snack and sippy cup for water. 

Playing outside after supper.  Seeing this reminds me that I don't think I've posted a picture of this quilt on my blog yet; that needs to be remedied!  (Made with love by Grandma.)

Finally started pepper and tomato seeds; better late than never!

It's nice to review the pictures and notes I'm taking at the end of each day as it helps me keep track of what I've captured and what else I'd like to capture for the week.  I'm choosing to focus entirely what's going on at home this week and not documenting anything work-related.  I'm hoping to really capture what our daily life is like right now - routines, things we're eating, activities, Ada's outfits and favorite toys, random pics around the house and outside, etc.

Modern Quilt Guild & A Week in the Life

Unfortunately I haven't been blogging much lately and therefore have a backlog of pics and project updates.  (I'm hoping to get them posted soon!)  In the meantime I'd like to share a couple things going on this week that I'm really excited about.

I've been working with my friends Kristina and Alyson to get a new Modern Quilt Guild chapter started!!  Our first meeting will be this Friday at Quilted Treasures.  I can't even tell you how pumped I am!!  You can learn more about our group here.  We are making lots of plans and will be working hard to get more content on the site.

And...we'd love to have you join us!

Our guild is lucky enough to be hosting a book-signing by the super-talented Sandi Henderson at QT in May!!  I can't wait to see the book, and couldn't resist picking up a couple of her patterns over the weekend, Gracie and Claire.

The other big thing I have planned for this week is participating in A Week in the Life.  My plan is to do the documenting this week and then put the album together afterward.  I feel like there have been a lot of everyday details I've missed recording lately so I'm really looking forward to this.
